Anyone care to try and service this thing. Im embarrassed to say that our company installed that. Everytime I get sent to that office building I pray that it isn't that unit. If I ever do get there for that one I may have to decline.
I am talking about the higher one of the two. You would have to carry you latter up the staircase and lean it against the platform.

At first I figured that to be the work of some photoshop work floating around but if you say the company you work for installed that sh8t, YIKES!
They look to be at least 10 years old. Why are they installed up there rather than the ground? Too close to where cars drive and park?

That would be insane to lean up against either one of those units. The little unit closer to the bottom has to have the entire top lifted off to access the contactor and run caps!

YES I would!

yep off a sissor lift or a cherry picker - all other ways are in violation of workers compensation board rules (now called work safe BC )
I'd have one delivered to site - if necessary have a meeting with the company safety committee on site first

Agree. I'd call our safety coordinator and that would be the end of servicing the unit until a safe way was devised: IE your lift idea. If the customer didn't want to pay for it, sucks to be them. They'll give up a customer before they would send us on that. YES I would!

Whats a safety committee? No such thing were I work.:lachen:

As far as inspectors go they are usually the biggest hacks in town. Seriously the last one we had was nothing more than an installer at a local company and once he became inspector he was always doing side jobs. That is until he got arrested for fraud for taking a guys money and not installing the proper equipment.

maybe this is in new Orleans and they didn't want it to get flooded in the next hurricane.

Seems to me they could have extended the roof (under the stairs ) over and put the two on top of that. But no I would not work on those.
