Usual PM service. Yes it was treated bad for many years before the new homeowner had me start servicing it every year. Built like a tank though.

I was going to say "Thermopride" or "Lennox" before I saw the second picture. Is "ThermoProducts" the same as "Thermopride". Yes, they are built like a tank. I've got a oil thermo in my basement right now. If it were any other furnace it would not pain me so bad to remove it and put in a hi-ef propane kicker. I know that oil furnace would last forever, but just not quiet, comfortable, or efficient enough...

Thermopride oil furnaces are made in Denton NC bout and hour away. Believe the gas models are still made in Indiana. They are now contracted to build the Val-Pro oil furnaces here also.
Gas burner converson kits are to high and you will get maybe 80% out of the furnace. Not worth it.

Thermo has an excellent 90+ that's convertable to propane. Just as tough as the oil furnaces.
Check it out ... lat one i saw a few years back was like a '57 buick.

Yea after a few you can't smell oil anymore. Everyone around you can though :D On a good note though, no cuts on your hands will get infected :thumb: Least mine haven't. Oh and the one thing oil will teach you to do. Wash your hands before holding your thing to relieve yourself. You will only forget once :tmi:

Built like a tank, and has the gas mileage of a tank?

Answering the question; are they are the same as Thermopride

Looks like a Thermopride to me. Brings back memories, when I was a helper I must have lugged a couple hundred of those up and down the steps.
If I had scroched air heat in my house I'd most likely install one of them. Not the most efficent units around, especialy today, but you can't beat 'em for reliability and service life.

Twilli don't take any new oil customers. Twilli tired of oil.
