Very good thread DP.
Its hard to narrow it down to one song. I love listening to the Doors and Jimi Hendrix, but I would have to say that the one band that has changed my life would be Pink Floyd. Their songs really make you think about what they are really trying to say. I finially got to see Roger Waters in concert a couple of summers ago and well lets just say that nine months later my son was born. So I guess their music has had a big impact on me.
