Was called up to look at this heat pump & told another company had looked at it. They told him it had a bad leak & needed to be replaced.

This is a fairly new Payne H.P. found this when I had zero pressure in the system & took the top off.

After putting a torch to it I would say I found it to have a hole in it, about the size of a 3/16" drill bit.

Guy asked me how that big of a hole could have gotten there.

New form of corrosion, scratchawlization or twopennynail

So what? some had tried to patch it and it still leaked? thats an easy fix, some techs will default to "you need a new one" at the least little thing.

I wasn't touching it, that hole was intentionally made.

:shocked:i would think if you did fix it instead of replaceing or walkin away you would get a customer for life. So many crooks out there i would think if you pointed out a deliberate sabotoged piece of equipment and you fixed it for a resonable rate you would get refered to more customers ect......:thumb:

focus you need focus

but I can see the hole
hmmmm I suggest welding it then hitting it with the nitro to see if any other leaks are around

dang there's enough work around without being crooks
