the most unorganized company. we had a warranty call and so bought the new part returned the bad part for credit and were told they could not do it we had to fill it out online. So did the online and it kept refusing it for invalid model number. I had my guy drive 3 hours to go back and the model number was good. I called the warranty department and they told me that service bench does not allow commercial warranties online we had to do a paper s.c.a. I told the lady that the parts counter refuses to fill it out and told us to do it online geez these people need to get their act together
Frank you talking about Ford When did you become an auto mekinik Yes Carrier's warranty shit is a mess, I sure wish it was like in the olden days Shit that' the only reason I sold their junk, is because they were so lax on the warranty
compaines today have a way of making you inadvetantly jump through hoops to get what you deserve. it fugging drive me nuts, and more than once has caused me potential issues due to my temper. I do a lot of manufacturer work on semi cutom equipment, and recently one company had the girl deduct twenty percent off my invoice to them and put a note that "they dont pay for markup on parts we purchase". the bill was for labor only on a manufactured penthouse sytem. its just the times, even though it makes me crazy. this economy is jamaican me crazy.
crap, have them tell me all the time they only credit the costs, not the tax nor the shipping. it drives me up the wall so I deduct it from their payment with a letter explaining why in fact I have been waiting since August for a labor credit from one manufacturer today I sent an e-mail stating that I chose to use another company for this big upcoming account because I know that his compensation is way way more then the credit I have been waiting for and if he does not get off his ass I will continue to convince my customers to use someone else since we are a huge huge account I hope this gets him off his lazy ass
I just had a jyorkci guy tell me he couldnt quote me on a forty ton coil and condenser to add to an existing chilled water, central station ahu, unless I gave him the site contact information. they wanted to back door me. Oh, ok, let me just get that for you....
they always want job information. does not mean they are giving you a prostate exam with a hand on each shoulder
I still install Carrier equipment for some stupid reason, but what is ****ed up now is everybody has to get quotes from Carrier Building Services for the equipment, and you have to give them all the same shit we've had to give the distributor, so they might be looking for a back door in But dealing with the idiots can rally piss you off, one time we were installing a pair of 150 on chillers, they had in and out stenciled on the chiller barrel, so we just piped it that way, when we fired them up they cut out on low water flow, I got out the book and they ****ing idiots had stenciled the barrel wrong, I called Carrier, they had to send some dumb cunt out to take pictures then didn't want to pay for repiping as we should have read the manual **** you assholes then don't ****ing stencil them They did pay when I told them I wouldn't pay for the chiller until it was settled Then on another job, two new chillers had been running for about 4 months, then one shut down, with a code that wasn't in the book, so I called them they had to call Syracuse, and said it was a low water flow code, you must have it piped backwards or bad pumps It was a bad thermistor I swear they hire only idiots
I dont mean job name or address, they wanted a guys name who ran the joint, fug that. oh yeah, the old you didnt do your job right so we wont pay. ok. that is exactly why no contractor pays in full anymore until thinga are started up and working well. payments terms......30 days net from shipping. ya, bite me mofo.
Feel your pain guys, im convinced this crap is set up so they wear you out with bull in the hopes you just go away. I have been looking for a good line to rep commercially and what im coming up with is they all stink. The big two do need to be taken down a peg or two, i like the guys i deal with here , but their parent company must no understand there are alternatives. Sometimes,,,,,,i remind them too.
Carrier has never had a good rep, if they have I've never met them But they used to had some good store managers in our area, and I could deal with them but it has gone way down hill since corporate bought out the distributors They pretty much tied their hands about stuff they could used to do
Project manager will not go to Trane Commercial for anything, if he can avoid it. Uses a distributor for that brand, and so far, gets good support. But, here, not looking at any big chiller work any time soon, so can get rtu's for most of our jobs thru them. In former job, JCI almost always had to be dragged, kicking and screaming to get any warranty issues done. Trane the same way.
