IS it me or are they making some real rattle traps lately I saw a , ZJ300COOA2BZZ10001B and let me tell you the condenser fans were so loud I don't know what was ratteling so damn loud, Gbas oh F you simple logic or whatever they call it. They even left the rubber plug from the compressors in the coils. Ok rant over.
preditor line crap i have a few of there new shit and i just have issues after issues. i think lennox is back in the game of rooftops l and t series are great.
york as issues like compressors constant failing because of a damn dehum setting on the board I always have thought the Lennox makes the mack daddy rooftop units (other then C class)
Wow, thats pretty harsh, but maybe justified. I feel that manufacturers are racing each other to make bigger piles of crap, but who is driving it? simple end users and contractors like us. We all look for low price. its funny, but around here a rooftop job fifteen years ago was 2200/ton. I see them sold for less now, with labor rates two times as high. we demand low prices, and get them, what the fug do we expect to come out to the jobs? by the way, we always order ours with upgrades like hinged access and toolless entry, factory disconect etc, and they seem to always be nicer than run of the mill units. not sure if they make em different or if it just feels that way.
You have a valid point but you really should see this thing rattleing and huffing and puffing up there.
I am not surprised, rather I am also disappointed in the quality of what comes out to the field from the big three anyway. I understand them doing what they have ot do to compete, just think it sucks. By the way, dont forget, when they build em right, customers keep them for thirty years and wonder why we want to sell them new ones, lol.
One time back in the 70's I was at the Acroaire plant doing some work for Gundfoss, and was talking to one of the design engineers and he told me that they have to be so competitive that just the price of one screw makes the difference who gets the bid on some huge jobs
and that is exactly why we have what we have, this country in general, and our industry specifically, is highly driven on price sells units. Cant change it, pass the beer nuts. manufacturers need to sell, so they compete that way. The cannot sit back and say one unit is better to reflect the additinoal cost, most wont buy at higher prices.
In residential ..... I wouldnt go with crap equipment to sell a job .... Maybe its different in commerical
There is a place for quality. That place seems to get smaller each day. But if you dont offer it they will never buy it
