solid shaft will weigh 40 to 60 lbs approx but thats if it has two blower wheel assemblies I'd do that job on my own no problem Id be sure I got the right replacement shaft either from the manuf or made up locally at a machine shop Ive used a grinder with a cut off wheel to cut bearings off without damaging the shaft - fastest way in my opinon ( gas cutters - run into hot work permits and all that bs )
