My BIL did the same with his Denali. Didn't like the thump when turning sharp coming from under the Truck.
My s10 blazer is just one wheel drive on each axle in 4wd - hi .... Even at at just 2 wheels it was great in the snow ....
Mrs Sg's gmc slc has auto lock and 4hi 4 lo 2 hi so it has speed sensor to each wheel in rear end and will lock front end if those wheels lose traction ....When its slick or i think she might need it ill tell hell hit auto 4x4 button it works great ive tried it before i gave her the truck... now awd has a speed sensor on each wheel plus abs sensor plus a bunch these sensors get dirty from brake dust and road film .. They all read info and send it to ecu and it will auto lock in front wheels but its still driver needs to know limits ...Trust me have any of you hit Abs brake and felt the pedal push back or go down...
I hav another question about new cars ( not just mine ) The honda has this called eco-boost ..... I saw an add that ford has the same thing .... Another gimmick ? The sticker says 22 city and 30 hwy ..... But the saleman say if i use eco-boost I can get 35 hwy ..... He also stated the eco boost isnt allowed in the testing of fuel milage ..... I always roll my eyes when I hear ( its way better ) but its not allowed to be figured in ......
Ask him Where the hell do u get it at eco-boost im old but what and where do you get to use old cooking oil or what is that eco boost ... can i piss in tank after ive drank all nite and then fart in tank
I was there to help my wife get a car she liked and not to let them get our trade in cheap .....( Thier first offer really sucked ) Havin checked nada prices we got another 15oo on our trade ..... I already knew goin in honda doesnt come off the sticker price much ..... Why people hav to make up shet is beyond me .... The econ button is supposed to up the gas milage .... The saleman said you loose some power but the car will still hav plenty and get better milage .... He also said the epa doesnt test for gas milage with the econ button on ? ( lol thats a red flag ) Since ive read some about this feature it looks different than fords econo-boost .... The salemane did say it changes the motor timing ( on the honda ) which increases mpg ( bull shet ) in my opinion .... Were happy with the car I was just tring to figure out what the button does ( if anything ) .... Heres the link from honda .........http://automobiles.honda.com/cr-v/features.aspx?Feature=ecoassist
From what I see it's main feature is using behavior modification on the driver. By using feed back thru the dash to you. Then it will raise the setpoint for a/c, sound familiar? Reset some variable aspects of engine control. Do things like recharge the battery during braking only. Piss and moaning at you by changing colors of the dash displays when your not following the program, see above. Then there is other stuff out there being badged as ECO stuff like GPS picking the shortest route to save gas. Did I say Behavior Modification? Remember that egg between your foot and the gas peddle? Just seen where somebody compared it to a driving Wii game.
I've got this four wheel drive ford pick up that has the worst gas mileage of the vehicles I got. I am finding that the worst mileage I get is when I am just driving slow 20 t0 25 mph on the weekend cruises on these northern Michigan back roads. It's engine run time compared to miles driven. Ain't that something? Drive to slow and MPG goes way down.
I remember when they came out with a vacume gauge on the dashboard & marked good gas milage to the arrow when your off the gas and bad gas milage when you pushed down on the pedal ..... I dont see this as anything diffent so farr ....
