agreed. most of the swaging i do is in small refrigeration units and icemakers, where you feasibly can not fit a block. the pliers would be fricking awesome. one some jobs, i've been twenty or thirty minutes debating the best way to make a connection, if you don't have a coupler, a handy tool like that would become my first response.
i really like the principle of this thing... if a head came in 1/8 or 1/16 graduated sizes, that would be excellent http://www.build.com/rothenberger-2.../p569883?source=gba_569883&CAWELAID=760241808
I know this thread is old, but wanted to post anyways. I use this kit. http://www.yellowjacket.com/node/815 Probably not good if your looking for something more compact, but works great if you don't need to use it in a tight space. It takes 2 seconds to make a swage, and is pretty effortless, even on inch and an eighth. I use no couplings, and use about half the amount of braze as the guys who use couplings. I love that tool. FWIW they are no replacement for those nice hydraulic MasterCools if you are going to do a lot of 'joints' but they are way better than the hammer type and should last a lifetime the way they are built. You still need quite a bit of room to work the tool Lurk so it wont work in a confined space or do anything under 3/8"
damn, that link won't work for me. i'll check it later. the sizes i really wanted it for was 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 hmm
